the day and life of a housewife... ;)

I want to hear a really good sermon about Christmas. Jesus being born and what that means to everyone of us. I wish we could find a church that fit us. Like maybe an all clam diggers church that went off the schedule of the tides. Ugh. Anyway, I am sorry for any of you that might have been blog hopping and was expecting something great and useful to read, this is sort of like an online journal for me. This morning my daughter was.not listening and argued anytime she was told to do something. Such is life I suppose. My son is sitting on the floor playing with his toys and entertaining himself...a very nice break indeed. I wish I had some avocados and tomatoes so I could make some yummy tacos for dinner. Hmm what else? Going to frost sugar cookies this afternoon, hopefully that will be fun as opposed to a big fight.

christmas
Overall today was pretty good. The seahawks kicked some Chicago booty and the Christmas party was fun. I ended up with 2 movies....bridesmaids and some other one that I've never heard of. My husband got a clock and a lantern. Pretty cool. Tomorrow.I am going to my friend Amandas house so our kids can decorate sugar cookies together. I want to wrap the kids presents o. Tuesday while they are staying at my parents house for the night.
i love that hubby of mine.
Today was pretty uneventful. My daughter came home from her grandma and grandpas, stayed a couple hours then went to go stay at her aunties. I miss my baby girl but I guess I should share her sometimes... Tommorow is my husbands side of the family big Christmas dinner. We have lots of good food, do a white elephant gift exchange and just enjoy each others company. This year will be even more fun because instead of buying gifts we are bringing something from our homes that we already own. About a month ago my hubby bought me this awesome pair of footsie.jammies. I am 6'2 so I should of known they wouldn't have been long enough, so that is my gift..brand new with the tag still on it. My husband is bringing .a web cam that we got from checking out some car sale thing....we never used it..so MERRY CHRISTMAS SOMEONE. LOL my daughter, suprisingly chose to give her bongos. My son is giving this leaning leapfrog car thing. I can't wait to see my kids open their gifts on Christmas day, I think they will be stoked.

i refuse..
I refuse to get sick. Ok, maybe I am in severe denial about this but I am coughing, sneezing, chest hurting, nose running...well you get the idea. I have been suprisingly healthy this winter. Usually, if someone even talks about vertigo sick it seems I catch it. Well my good luck is turning. At least my hubby has the next few days off.
Jacob turned 20 months today. Crazy to think in 4 months I will have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Time really does fly. My husband got a hair up his ass and decided to shave my sons head and give him a mohawk. Really? Good thing he's a cutie I guess.
I cleaned out my sons room today, that was a disaster. How can a 1 year old mess up a room so fast. Yikes. He loves pulling every piece of clothing out of his dresser. Tommorow, I will tackle my daughters room, I might need backup for that though! I think the nyquil might be setting in..my eyes are heavy. Have a good night.

just another tuesday
Nothing terribly exciting happened today. My son spent the night at his aunts house so I actually slept in until 1030. Amelia was a couple minutes late to school because we had to do a last minute errand. I was happy to see Jake when I picked him up but he wanted to stay there and play with his cousin. Came home, cleaned the kitchen and took a 2 hour nap. While the sleep felt good, I fully understand why it is 1130 at night and I am not tired. I am excited for tommorow- my aunt and friend Ce are coming over for coffee. I haven't visited with them for a while so that will be fun. I hope my hubby comes home from work less grouchy then when he left. I hate how the lack of money can effect peoples mood! Well t.t.f.n

day of cooking
My 83 year old grandma came over today and we baked and visited. We made fudge, sugar cookies and some kind of cookie that you use yellow cake mix in.. I am roasting a chicken for dinner. I have cleaned the kitchen 3 different times today and yet again it is a mess. Grr.

parenting
It's a funny thing. I have no idea what I'm doing Lol but I try my darndest . There are a million books and theorys on how to and you shoulda... I had a discussion with my 5yr old after overreacting and loudly yelling about I was sorry and that this is the first time I've ever been a mommy. She looked and me, confused and said really? I said everyone makes mistakes, even me. I figure as long as a person realizes when they do and can learn from it- that's really a tool for life, right? There are too many parents that think they have it all right and out themselves on a pedastool above their kids, I believe that's not fair. Of course there has to be authority over your children but their is a distinct difference. The whole goal is to lead them to be productive adults that are instilled with morals and values...right? :)
